Fun Monday–How Are You Quirky?
June 30, 2008
This week’s fun Monday is, well, fun. Check it out at Lisa’s Chaos.
Well, I’m quirky in so many ways, I’m not sure where to begin.
Here’s one. I have a voice for my dog. As long as I can remember I have been the voice for my pets, and it continues to this day with Ringo.
It gets quirkier, if that’s a word. I secretly like to think I’m channeling their inner personalities, and giving voice to what they might be thinking, if they could think like we do.
One of the many benefits of having young children is that no one blinks an eye when you yourself are acting like one! Yeah. Oh yeah. Yes. The kids love it. They routinely ask me, “what’s Ringo saying, mom?” and we try to come up with something funny. The kids are getting pretty good at channeling their inner Ringo too, which is every parent’s true hope.
Sometimes we wonder what other things are saying, even inanimate objects, like the house, or the car. “What’s the car saying, mom?” Yes, every little thing has a voice around my house.
We live in a magical world up here on the hill. If you’re coming over for coffee, please do bring your imagination, and don’t forget your sense of humor!

Scruff says Ringo is right, Your Super. But the dog always thinks your super it is the cat you got to watch out for, scarcastic feline.

I love it! I guess I actually talk for my dogs but I never thought of it as a quirk.
Please don’t take me to the funny farm.
Mine (dogs that it) ususally tell me, “Mom you are so silly”
Thanx for playing!

Ringo is so cute! He reminds me of my old dog, Rugby. Their faces are very similar.
Your house sounds like fun. I’ll be over for coffee around noon!

I have a friend who speaks in a German accent when talking as her German Short hair Pointer!

Ok, I make my animals talk too. I thought this was normal. It’s fun and full of laughs!

How wonderful to live in a home where everything has it’s own personality and talks to you as well!

OMG…this is so GREAT! I want to channel your dog, now. I imagine my dog to have a voice like Kermit the Frog.

Love your puppy! Bet the dog talks to you through you – our dogs talked through us when we had them. Someone has to give the universe a voice.

That is one cute quirk! I think I’d enjoy walks with your family too. Every ant would have a voice, every stone, when turned, would utter some wisdom or just a cry of “OI put me back!”

That’s really cool! I love it.

Since Buddha is half Belgian Malinois (Belgian Shepherd), I give him a French accent. My goal is to sound something like David Suchet as Hercule Poirot, but I think I only manage to do a bad Maurice Chevalier impression.

Your magical world sounds wonderful.

I talk to my dogs and cats all the time and they talk back to me (they even have their own blog
http://homeofthemms.blogspot.com/) so that’s not too quirky.
Your kids are lucky to have such a mommy with a great imagination and sense of humor.
